Spartacus Falcons
I spend a lot of time looking at views like this when I'm in Kalymnos... which usually means I'm flat on my back on the comfiest rock I can find at the base of a crag! I sketched the idea for this piece when there were a lot of lesser falcons flying and calling to each other high above the climbers- a staple sight and sound on the island during Spring!
Originally painted as a double page spread in my sketchbook, using watercolour and gouache paint and coloured pencils.
